Janette is traveling around the world and I’m certain she is coming up with some great book ideas. Meanwhile, I’m home living vicariously through her adventurous life and reading her books.
Just One Wish
Children with Cancer is a sad topic and even though the subject is heavy in this book there’s plenty of humor. Annika sneaks off to Hollywood in hopes to talk the actor who plays Teen Robin Hood into visiting her brother Jeremy before his surgery. She is certain if Jeremy’s hero Steve Raleigh visits her brother than everything will work out. How she gets onto the set of Robin Hood and what she does to get close to Steve Raleigh is pretty funny and very crazy. But what would you do to save the life of your six year old brother?
Next, I decided to reread an adult contemporary from Janette Rallison. In the past I read the Sierra St. James version. This new version is an Adult Clean Romance.
Clarissa gets a job as a nanny working for famous actor Slade Jacobson. The best thing about the job is she can take her daughter Elaina along and not have to pay for daycare. She also gets to spend a week in Hawaii watching Slade’s spirited daughter Bella. Slade thinks Clarissa is still married. Clarissa of course doesn’t correct him since it helped her get the job. Slade’s marriage to a famous actress ended when she was found cheating on him. The only good that came from the marriage is Bella. A week in Hawaii seems like paradise but when your dealing with actors and the press things can get crazy. Janette is great at writing YA romance and she’s equally as good with Adult Clean Romances.
Both of these books have dedications to Richard Hatch. I too am a fan and I grew up watching Battlestar Galactica. It’s cool to know Richard motivated Janette and also helped her with information on what happens on a Hollywood set.
