Peaches, Pitchers, and Romance- AIM FOR LOVE book review

In celebration of National Romance Awareness and National Peach month I read “Aim for Love” by Pamela Aares in the Tavonesi Series.

Peaches-Land              romance

Kaz’s world is peaches and pitching. Romance is the last thing he’s looking for. He promised his grandfather he would marry a Japanese woman. He never knew how hard it would be to keep that promise. Kaz hopes to get picked up by the San Francisco Giants. He’s also desperately trying to save his family’s California peach farm.

(Yu Darvish could play a great Kaz. Let’s hope they make the whole Tavonesi series into a movie or TV series.)

Sabrina is the next up and coming Hollywood sweetheart. Her latest film has made her a star. She’s getting ready to film the sequel but she can’t seem to recover from an attack that left her shoulder injured. Her brother Alex (from book #1 Love Bats Last in the Tavonesi Series) gets his pitching friend Kaz to work with her in hopes to rehabilitate her shoulder. Not with pills and physical therapy but with Kaz’s old school samurai skills.

Kaz and Sabrina aren’t looking for a relationship in each other but there is no ignoring their sexual attraction.  And I mean sexual attraction! Pamela knows how to steam up the windows with these two characters.

Sabrina experiences the downside of acting. It isn’t always easy to separate real life and the characters life especially when taking on dark roles. I never thought about the struggles that come along with fame. Pamela takes you behind the scenes of Hollywood.

When an ex-girlfriend, a drug lord, and murder charges get in the way, it doesn’t look like things are meant to be for Sabrina and Kaz. Can true love conquer through all that?

Like “The MacGregors” series by Nora Roberts, I’ve fallen in love with the Tavonesi family. I enjoy spin off series where each story is focused on a family member but the previous family members that you’ve grown to love show up to help out. Every time I read the Tavonesi series it makes me want to visit vineyards and take long romantic walks on the pacific coastal beaches.
