This is a wonderful book. It’s a Christian Romance and has many great life lessons. Ivy Clark has been on top of the world as a fashion model. An industry where looks are everything Ivy is considered beyond her prime at the age of twenty-four. The only job she can land is modeling wedding gowns for the one person who should despise her, her stepmother Marilyn.
Davis Knight is a talented photographer but doesn’t take pictures anymore. He only agrees to take pictures of Ivy to help his Aunt out. The bridal show will raise money for his blind sister and the art school she wants to attend. Davis blames himself for his sister’s blindness and feels this is his punishment.
At first, you don’t want to like Ivy but as you learn about her background you can’t help but feel sorry for her. Ivy was the result of an affair. Marilyn forgave Ivy’s father and destroyed any hopes Ivy’s mom had of them being a happy family. Marilyn never had children of her own so she reached out to Ivy and had her visit them during the summer. That only made things worse. Ivy’s father completely ignored her and she hated him for it. Ivy’s Uncle took her under his wing as her agent and at the age of fourteen Ivy was thrown into a world that made her grow up way to fast.
Ten years later, Ivy stood at her father’s funeral and felt nothing for the man. It was her Uncle who made her go. Davis remembered the sad little girl who would visit his Aunt Marilyn and had followed her career as a beautiful model. Ivy is use to being lusted after and she knew Davis was no different. When they are thrown together as model and photographer Davis can’t help being attracted to her but she is not the kind of woman he’s looking for. Ivy’s career is falling apart and Davis is the answer to getting it all back.
