JoJo Moyes does it again mixing a woman in the past with a woman today. Jennifer lives in 1960 where women are meant to look good on the arms of successful men. Jennifer wakes up from a coma with no memory of her marriage with her rich and successful husband Larry. Jennifer feels lost in her marriage and very detached from her husband. When she finds a love letter she is desperate to find the man who loved her so much. The story reminded me of many epic stories that I love, like; “The Vow,” “An affair to remember,” “Casablanca,” and “The Notebook.”
When we jump ahead to 2003, journalist Ellie is struggling with her affair to a married man. When she finds the love letters from 1960 she thinks if their affair could make it through the hard times maybe hers will to. She’s able to find Jennifer living right in London and learns from her experience.
JoJo Moyes writes beautifully and gets you involved in her characters lives. This is a great read.
